A site for a creek flow survey programme, built so field data and public explanation live together.

The challenge

Environmental monitoring has two audiences with opposite needs: neighbours who want to know what is happening to the creek, and people who want the actual survey data.

The approach

A plain-language explanation up front, with the survey material one clearly marked step behind it. Neither audience has to read the other’s version to get to theirs.

Outcome

• Plain explanation and survey material kept on separate paths
• Survey documents given a proper home rather than a link dump
• Readable on a phone in the field
