Faculty of Dentistry: an academic deck that holds a room

Academic presentation design for a university faculty, built for a lecture hall rather than a laptop.

The challenge

Academic material is written to be read closely and then shown to two hundred people at once. The source slides carried body copy at reading size and clinical imagery at thumbnail size, which is exactly backwards for the room.

The approach

Everything was resized for distance: larger type, fewer lines, imagery given the space it needs to be read as evidence. The institution's palette holds it together and a consistent slide furniture keeps long sessions from feeling long.

Outcome

• Typography and imagery scaled for a lecture hall
• A consistent structure across a long teaching set
• Institutional identity applied without stiffness
